Whether recreational or competitive, swimming provides a unique athletic medium, namely water, which has the ability to increase the athlete's sense of freedom of movement.

Swimming has been one of the main activities in the CPISRA competition program for several years.

It can be enjoyed by athletes with a wide range of disabilities.

Competitive Opportunities

Swimming is a Paralympic sport. Athletes have the opportunity to compete at official CPISRA competitions in most regions and countries. National Championships are often open to competitors from nations.

For different strokes are included in most competitions: the front and back strokes, breast strokes and butterfly. Relay and medley competitions are also often offered. Distances usually reange from 25 M to 1500 M an competitors are divided according to class and gender.
