    Powerlifting is a Paralympic sport.

This sport involves movements and training that are similar to those used by ablebodied lifters.

 
       

 
   

 
 

Classification  
       
   

CPISRA athletes compete within classification ranges. The classification system ensures an even playing ground for athletes to compete against others with similar abilities.

All lifters compete in a combined system with other disability groups. There are 10 different bodyweight categories which are divided as follows:

Up to and including 48 kg

Up to an including 40 kg

From 48.01 to 52.00 kg

From 40.01 to 44.00 kg

From 52.01 to 56.00 kg

From 44.01 to 48.00 kg

From 56.01 to 60.00 kg

From 48.01 to 52.00 kg

From 60.01 to 67.50 kg

From 52.01 to 56.00 kg

From 67.51 to 75.00 kg

From 56.01 to 60.00 kg

From 82.01 to 90.00 kg

From 60.01 to 67.50 kg

From 90.01 to 100.00 kg

From 67.51 to 75.00 kg

From 100.01 and over
