  Football 7-A-Side

Football 7-A-Side is team sport and has been played by athletes with cerebral palsy for many years.

Modifications to International  FIFA soccer rules make CPISRA Football 7-A-Side an exciting sport.

Some of the changes include a smaller pith and goal posts, there is no off-side and players can roll the ball into play in place of a throw in.

On the field, teams are made up of seven ambulant cerebral palsy athletes ranging from classes 5 to 8.

Complete rules of CPISRA Football 7-A-Side are detailed in the CPISRA Classification and Sports Rules Manual.

Classification

CPISRA athletes compete within classification ranges.

The classification system ensures an even playing ground for athletes to compete against others with similar abilities.

Ambulant athletes with cerebral palsy classes 5, 6, 7 and 8 can participate in Football 7-A-Side.

Classification is based on the athlete's functional profile and the impact of their profile on sport performance to ensure fair competition.

New athletes who have never been classified are classified 1-2 days prior to a sanctioned competition.
