• CPISRA World Development Games 2009 - Expressions of interest
  
  The CPISRA executive committee would like to invite expressions of interest to host a World Development Games in Athletics during 2009. Full details of the format of this competition are shown on the attached document. Any expression of interest should be emailed to CPISRA at  contact@cpisra.org by 31 May 2008. The expressions of interest should include the following details, the proposed dates, proposed venue including city/town, host organisation and lead contact.

• CPISRA Wheelchair Track & Race Runner Festival 2008
  
  The CPISRA wheelchair festival will take place between 29th-31st May at Harvey Hadden Stadium in Nottingham UK. The festival is open to T32, 33 and T34 wheelchair and racerunner athletes.

• At the CPISRA executive committee meeting 
  
  in November a decision was taken that with the exception of racerunner and Class31 athletes CPISRA would no longer maintain an independent ranking and world records list. This decision would apply from season 2007. Athletes and coaches interested in rankings and current WR should refer to the IPC athletics website at  www.ipc-athletics.org where a comprehensive rankings system is available. All future results that meet the IPC guidlines should be submitted to Helen.Murphy@paralympics.org . The guidelines and details of the format that these results should be submitted is also available on the IPC athletics website.

• CPISRA is pleased to announce that it has gained 2 new member organisations. 
  
  The Bulgarian Association for Recreation and Sport Cerebral Palsy and the Cerebral Paralysis Sports Venezuela National Federation have applied for and been awarded provisional CPISRA membership. In compliance with the CPISRA constitution, their membership status will be presented for ratification at the next CPISRA General Assembly, which will take place in South Africa in December 2008.
  
  We welcome our new members and look forward to working with them in the future.

  We will be presented with the cheque at a ceremony to be held in Monaco on the 30^th of August during the Champions League draw.

• CPISRA Athletics

  At the recent meeting of the CPISRA executive committee it was agreed that the Technical Officer Athletics should organise an International Training Camp for T32, T33 and T34 wheelchair racers in  2008. The idea is to bring together the athletes from around the world to train together, for the coaches to share best practise in an effort to raise the standard of performance and generally raise the profile of CP wheelchair racing. The event will culminate in an International Open Athletics competition sanctioned by CPISRA which will be open to all CP athletes and will fall within the qualifying period for Beijing 2008. It is envisaged that the event will take place in the UK in May/June next year and will last for 5 days including competition. If any athletes or coaches would be interested in participating in this event or if any country would be interested in hosting the training camp please contact the Technical Officer Athletics at craigcarscadden@btinternet.com

Unfortunately the organisers cannot be responsible for accommodation or travel arrangements

  The Dutch Open Athletics Championships are scheduled to take place on 27-28th May 2007. The event is IPC sanctioned and should provide CP Athletes with good quality competition and the opportunity to get qualifying standards for Beijing.
